Happy Birthday : Natakireeti “Rajendra Prasad”

‘Natakireeti’ Rajendra Prasad has turned 55 years old today. Hailing from a middle class family in Nimmakuru, Krishna district, Rajendra Prasad had a penchant for acting since childhood that drove him to the glam world. After initial hiccups, he managed to debut with Sneham (1977) and play petty roles in many movies. Well then, director Vamsy’s flicks released in 1980-90s era like Chettu Kinda Pleader, Ladies Tailor, April 1st Vidudhala and et al made him the ‘king of comedy’. While portraying lead roles, he worked as character artiste and shared screen space with counterparts as well in a handful of movies such as Kshemamgavelli Labhamga Randi, Hitler, Family Circus, Aakasa Veedhilo, Maa Alludu Very Good, etc.

Rajendra Prasad has to his credit several hits like Brindavanam, Mr. Pellam, Appula Apparao, Aa Okkati Adakku, Kannayya Kittayya, etc. He proved his versatility by essaying performance-oriented roles like that in Madam (enacted a woman), Aa Naluguru and Mee Sreyobhilashi. Also, he sizzled in a Hollywood film Quickgun Murugan (2009), which got the attention of the world towards Telugu film industry. He was awarded with Nandi Award for Best Actor for Erra Mandaram (1991) and Aa Naluguru (2004) apart from being nominated for Filmfare Awards a couple of times. As of now, Rajendra Prasad is working for a film with director-producer K Kranthi Madhav under Sunshine Cinema banner and Krishna Vamsi’s Mogudu casting Gopichand and Tapsee.
